Back door outer skin

Has anyone else had the aluminum pull away at the back window and license plate holder? Ours recently separated approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch on both sides of the back window and the left side of the license plate holder. We’re headed out on a 5000 mile trip and felt we needed a quick fix since a trip to our dealer (200 miles away) was not possible before we are scheduled to leave. We used Sikaflex 221 to bond and seal the aluminum to the door. When we return, I think we will be asking for a new rear door. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Any dealer should be able to fix it on your 5000 mile trip , I go out of my way to avoid the original dealer I purchased from.

I would look for a 5 star rivet dealer , they are normally happy to fix warranty issues

Do you have any pictures of where your is separated? I have a small separation at the bottom of the rear widow and a small crack in the plastic sill area inside where it's separating. It also leaks water in the same area.

Thanks,
JJ
