A/C Removal

Most will think I am crazy, but has anybody removed the ceiling mounted A/C unit on a 2017 Basecamp?

Just thinking about it as it never gets used. Plugging into shore power isn't my thing, and it would be nice to save weight and simplify.

Nope not crazy, some people remove the ac and add a fantastic fan or maxxair in the space. Runs on 12v, less weight and great for boondocking! Would also probaly be cool enough for you in such a small space.

Sweet.

What kind of hole is left? I really worry about getting it sealed up.

I'll have to research fans and such.

There should be an opening that’s 14” x 14” where the ac comes through your roof. You can replace it with a skylight or a fan. It should be a direct fit. Use vulkem to seal and screws to attach new fan or skylight.
