UV Limitations of Walbernize

I'm about to Walbernize my 21' 1996 Sovereign and then park it at 8,300' in Colorado, where we used to have a house until the Four Mile Fire last Sept. We lost our tow vehicle in the fire and haven't replaced it yet, so we don't plan on actually travelling around much with it this year. Ideally, I'd like to leave it up there for the summer, but I'm concerned about the clearcoat/plasticoat, which I'm nursing a bit anyway. I plan to apply Walbernize before taking it up there, but as far as I can tell, there's no UV protectant in the polish, so I was wondering about applying a layer of 303 after Walbernizing. Any thoughts? Am I crazy to leave it up there for any length of time? Thanks for any help. Nick

I have never seen a 2006 Sovereign.

I have tried the Walberize several times when we first got our Classic, I really feel this product gives better results.
Paint Sealant, 8 Ounces - Waxes & Sealants - Waxing - Car Care - Griot's Garage

CrawfordGene is pretty high, (well he's up there in Colorado too) on it also. Easy on/off and lasts well.

Thanks for the suggestion. As I understand it, Walbernize helps condition the plasticoat/clearcoat which is not an issue for your later model. I'm trying to do two things: keep my clearcoat from failing and protect it from UV. Walbernize does the first, but, I suspect, not the second. Any more thoughts on this from those experienced with pre-1998 model finishes?

Thanks, Nick

I think the only thing I would be cautious about is if the substance that I'm applying would contain any petroleum based additive. From what I remember ammonia and petroleum based chemicals are detrimental to the finish......at least that's what the folks up in JC have told me. One reason why I have used AmourAll car wash on my classic rather than the old standby which was Dawn liquid detergent. Dawn has an ammonia additive.

I just realized that I put 2006 in my first post, instead of 1996. Duh! Sorry. I'm talking about a 21' 1996 Sovereign.... Sorry about the confusion.
