Tips, Tricks, Advice

I recently purchased a 1967 Sovereign Land Yacht and am planning to fix it all up and do a full monty. I'm sure I will need lots of help along the way. As of right now, I've got most of the inside gutted and I am curious about the sewage draining system because I am planning to put in a compost toilet. But, I'm probably jumping the gun. The plan as of right now is to cut the subfloor with a skill saw to see what the underneath looks like and to be able to remove tanks hoses, and or wires without taking off the belly pan. I will rest some plywood on top when that is done and then tackle taking off the skins. Once the skins are off and I've stripped the electrical wiring, I plan on taking it to get any outside panels removed and fixed. Once the outside is looking good, i'll pull the full monty - get the frame out, sandblast the puppy, rustoleum it, and install a new belly pan. Next, i'm thinking to epoxy the new subfloor and put the trailer back together. That's about as far as I have gotten in the planning process. Any help or if you think there is a better way to go about this, would be much appreciated.

Seems like a good plan. Best advice I can give at this point, take it one step at a time and try not to get overwhelmed. It's a huge job ahead of you, but if you just focus on whatever the next thing is and keep making forward progress, you'll get there eventually.

Your subfloor MIGHT be good. Or it could be in need of a patch or two, but basically usable. Once you remove the furniture and carpet or vinyl, you can decide whether the subfloor stays or goes. IMHO you have to drop the belly pan just to find the dead critters and nasty imsulation. The frame is clearly visible from this angle.
