Painted Number Above Rear Window

Is this a factory placed number and if so, what does it designate? Just starting a restore and trying to get all the info I can. Thanks

The big red number are the owner's WBCCI membership number. It does not have anything to do with a particular Airstream.

That number was a WBCCI membership number of one of the past owners of the trailer. If there is a star or stars next to the number that indicates each 5 years of membership for that individual.

Membership does not go with the trailer but you could call the WBCCI headquarters in Jackson Center OH and see if the membership has lapsed and request it if you intend to join the club. No other reason than nostalgia.

We have had the same number on three AS now. It is our number, not the trailers.

If a WBCCI member owned more than one Airstream, each of these Airstream would have the same red number.

Also, the number isn't painted; it's decals.

THANK YOU!!! I had always noticed these numbers on ASs before I purchased mine...thought they were production numbers. Was surprised when my Daisy didn't have them. But thanks to Moosetags, I can now focus on another of my many shortcomings. jon
