Need help with awning

I did a really dumb thing and let the tail end of the awning snap out of my hand and roll up inside the cover.
Is there a good way to retrieve it?

Need help with awning

I did the same thing the first time we used our trailer, we got another person to help one at each end of the awning at the top of the arm meets the roll and steadily opened the awning the strap dropped out and I hooked it with the metal thingy that is used to hold the strap when retracting the awning. I have never done it again Lol! Hope you can visualize what I'm trying to say...

I have had the same problem and found it easy to resolve doing the same thing as
Englishgirl suggests. I think you should find it easy enough - it worried me too when it first happened!

I finally put a little poly rope extension on the loop, works fine.

Thanks for everybody's advice. I got my 6'8" neighbor to help Paula and me and we got it out. I'm going to put a loop of large diameter rope on it so this won't happen again.
