Question Looking for fender trim help

The original (?) fender trim on our '59 18 footer needs to be replaced. I'm looking for an original part, or an original looking replacement.

Thanks for your help,

Ryan.

My, that is a strange looking wheel well!

I got trim from Brunner Enterprises (Cap G51SL), Mirror Trim - Brunner - aluminum channel, extruded aluminum angle, anodized aluminum shapes, aluminum pipe, bar, tube, square tubing connector, aluminum channel, extruded aluminum angle, anodized aluminum shapes, aluminum pipe, bar, tube, square tubin, but the wheelwells on my Ohio '59 look different than yours. Has yours been repaired previously?

markdoane,

I don't think that the trailer skin has been modified, just the plastic material added when the original trim was removed. I'm cudious, the bottom right photo in your post: is that the original trim? That's what I think I'm looking for.

The overall shape of our wheel well is what I understand a California trailer wheel well looks like, the ohio should be more arched -- without the peak?

Also, thanks for the link, the closest trim looks to be the first one on the page? Cap G51SL 1/16"

Ryan.

Ryan,

The bottom picture is the original material, and the G51SL is the proper replacement. Order a 12ft length and have them cut it into thirds, that will give you enough for two wheel wells and a spare piece.

They ship in a heavy cardboard tube, but UPS will still bend them. I got mine for free, courtesy of UPS damage claim.

I have seen other '59's that have the semi-circle of rivets that follow the outline of the wheel well. Missing on mine. I don't know if that was a California design feature or not. Maybe someone else will know.
