Looking at a used Airstream with body damage.

Hey everyone, I am looking at purchasing my first airstream and still debating between new and used. One of the used ones I am looking at has this body damage at the rear exterior (seen below). Is this something that would worry you? They offered $1,000 off to cover repairs, would that be enough?

Thanks!

I wouldn't say that that damage is anything to get worried about--looks to be fairly superficial. That said, if you want it to be fixed, I doubt $1000 would cover the replacement of that formed segment and banana wrap. I replaced that very segment a few years ago, and buying the part, plus shipping was in the vicinity of $500.

You might do a search of these forums, there are several threads that weigh the costs of such repairs.

good luck!
