how to refresh the "AIRSTREAM" letters

The vinyl letters "AIRSTREAM" on the exterior have faded and lost their sheen. Can they be painter? Polished?
I have removed them and washed them, but that didn't really help.
Also, once fixed, what should I glue them back on with?
Thanks, in advance, for your advise and opinions.

Get some more vinyl cut.

A good cutter guy can duplicate them.

I could if I had them and the pieces they fit into in my hand. It is my opinion that removed vinyl decals removed will never go back.

I have cut a fair amount of vinyl in my day....

If they were still in place you could have carefully masked around them and painted them.
