codybear, I had a problem posting. I did think it was worth trying again. We had questions and many of the forums members helped us. We want to return the favor.

The question on this thread prompted me to post our cover. We are very satisfied with it...and it was not expensive. And we like the way it looks. Glad you agree and I hope this will give other members some ideas. AND yes thanks again for Janet's help. Aria

We purchased our Airstream Cover at Harbor Frieght. $189.00. The poles are white and the cover is light gray. Easy to assemble.

We did anchor it...to make it secure. Winter we get strong winds.

We had black-top next to the house. We used wooden 4 x 4 pieces to rest the poles. I think you will notice in the photo.

I had looked at metal covers that are similar, but much more expensive. Harbor Freight had never occurred to me.

As you can see in this thread http://www.airforums.com/forums/f427...ead-40795.html, I am out in the open to sun and wind. Interestingly enough, the latest post on it is about covers.

What a great looking cover. I had been thinking of somethign more like a car cover that sits directly on the trailer - but this is a solution that might work even better in our application. And this would avoid the problem of the cover scratching the trailer - plus in San Fran, we're not worried about ice or snow collapsing the cover.

We receive SNOW. It does hold snow. Just to be sure my husband takes a soft broom....inside next to the Airstream and "softly hits" the broom and the snow falls off. Not a lot of work. And easy to do. We have had a lot of snow on the trailer when we did not have a cover....and that was HARD work to remove the snow.

We never let the snow stay and keep putting more weight on the cover. He goes along the side across the length of the cover...presto. SNOW gone. It also makes a cozy spot to sit when we are at home. Feels like we are camping. SUPER. When it's just about 6 inches of SNOW...we don't remove.

This was a job. Note the amount of SNOW. My husband blew it with a leaf blower. With the Cover...it is a breeze.

Here in NM the problem is wind. Lots of it. And occassional hail. Do you think I could stake down this cover to handle say a 50 mph+ wind without doing more damage to my AS. Do you think it would stop, or at least slow down large hail. As far as the hail is concerned I would look at this cover as expendable insurance.

New to AS...not new to winter weather and covering a trailer. 1st...I have to share how much fun {and confusion} I get from reading everyone's expertise and opinions via the Forum.
Re covering...after reading 50+ contributors I still am on the fence whether to cover our new 26FC. We have the latest 'soft and breathable', indestructible cover from our long gone Keystone. My wife is a seamstress and thinks she can refit that cover to custom fit our new AS. Before the thread starts flying... I'm going to keep reading ...'to cover or not to cover..it remains the question.

We don’t recommend covering an AS with anything that comes into contact with the skin. Breezes will cause cover movement and leave marks on the aluminum and clear coat. And it is not pretty. Better to put it under a carport or structure. We store ours in a carport affair at the end of our house. Good luck finding your solution.
