Best Way To Sell MY 2007 Safari

I have a 2007 Safari FB, SE with a Hensley Hitch. We have decided that we need more space and will be purchasing a larger unit, or yes even a motorhome. I live in Illinois and would like to know the best method of advertising the my Airstream for sale. Also i would apprecaite any useful tips on determining the price that I should ask for it. I am not in a hurry and would like to do it the correct way.

Hey wooded....

I would view the trailers on other sites such as Colonial RV, RVUSA, etc for their listing prices. I would also check ebay. When I sold my 19' CCD I called Airhog1 to get a fair price since I bought it from him. I would list the ad on our forum classified index, and consider a free listing on Craigslist.org.

Another vote for AirHog1, if you are purchasing a larger AS he can help. They will take a trade in. I believe the sell other makes as well. We have a 2005 Safari SS and are seriously considering going to different floor plan or a larger unit. Our teen age son keeps growing.

hi woodedareas...

how are ya!

i think you'll be much happier with a nice class a diesel pusher.

and i'd still camp with ya!

more space (slides), easier to set up, a superior exterior finish and floor plan, MUCH nicer appointments inside,

and so on...

just make sure it comes with zipdee awnings

sure you can pedal that unit in the ads here or elsewhere,

but just trade it in...

the potential sales tax benefit alone makes trading worthwhile,

and you won't have to mess with explaining how to operate the a/s or hitch, or deal with 'showing' it potential buyers...

yes there will be a depreciation hit on the unit, but get a good discount on new and who cares!

cheers

Some states {like RI} do not give a tax credit when trading a trailer for a motorhome or vise versa. Because one has a motor and one doesn't is the reason in RI. I found out the hard way. Traded my MH for the trailer and should have paid $0 but ended up paying $5000. Just check so you know what you're dealing with

Sales tax laws vary

In Georgia,

Buying from an individual means that there is 0 tax. Not fair to dealers but a substantial savings for would be buyers of trailers and tow vehicles. I live in kansas now where everyone is charged no matter what

Try Nadaguides.com for a value. Look at completed listings like yours on ebaymotors.com Note: You must register on ebay (free) to search completed listings. Craigslist is free and fast, be sure to include some PICS and mayby a link to more PICS. I use photobucket.com for free Good Luck

Looks like Woodedarea has his 2007 25 ft Safari SE FB on Chicago Craigslist today for $45,000. He has very low miles on it and he is throwing in the Hensely Hitch. His Craigslist email is 62081516@craigslist.org.
