New 2007 Safari 20' SE

We are new to Airstream, and brought home our new Safari 20 SE a couple months ago. Everything seems to work and it looks really nice, with a few minor imperfections. Nonetheless we are very happy to have it, and plan a six month trip to the Southwest first of November.

I am wondering about a couple of apparent assembly problems: 1) There seems to be no sealant in the horizontal mid-body seam around the sides and rear of the trailer. All other seams are sealed nicely with thin grey sealant. Is this normal? 2) The heavy rubber seals on the window stone guards on both sides do not fit tightly against the body at the top. There is about a 1/2 inch gap or so that lets debris in from above and it collects at the bottom. Should these rubber seals fit tightly all around?

We are impressed with the experience and knowledge of forum members, and appreciate any advice as we become familiar with our Airstream.
