I Need An Inspection Check List for This Model

Hello Experts!

I am considering buying a 25' 2007 Safari SE LS FB queen. It has pano windows front and back. I have just spent some time reading posts about the floor rot and leaky pano windows (particularly rear). I have a few questions:

1. Has anyone bought this model camper who is happy with it and has no problems?

2. Can you give me a good check list, particularly for this model, of what to check for and how to make the inspection? I'm thinking a rubber mallot to tap around on the floor? I am also thinking about turning the hose on the windows.

3. Has anyone had any other 'big' issues that I should be looking for?

The owner is bringing the trailer to me from TX to OH because he is so confident that it is in excellent condition and I will love it. He says he will drive it back home if I don't want it.

I am new to Airstreams (had one with the wrong floor plan which I sold) and need some input. I've researched all models for the last year and have decided that this is the one for me.

He estimates being here by Friday (8-31-12). I appreciate all information and advice.

Heck....your close enough to the factory...make an appointment and have them OK it. Then, if all is OK....have them do your own mods. It sounds like you need this type of supervision....guidance.

He Kept His Toys and Stayed Home :(

Hello again Experts,

Well, the owner of the camper that I was going to purchase saw that I had asked questions on the Forum about this year/style of camper and he withdrew his offer. Specifically, he said:

The process of trying to sell this trailer has been very interesting. We have had people who were unable to get financing, people who have had problems with insurance, and one person that tried to scam us out of $28,000!
Now we have encountered someone who puts our private conversation on Air Forums for all to see.
I really have no problem with any inspection or check list from any source. As I have mentioned, we have owned some type of RV since 1973 and I am very confidant of the condition of this one. It is however a 2007 trailer which means that it is not new!
All that to say we will be pursuing a local sale.
I'm sorry this will not work out for you or us.

I have come to a couple of possible reasons.....1. This man is totally insecure with himself and the camper, 2. The camper probably had some huge issues that he knew I would discover because I was seeking guidance for inspection, or 3. He found another buyer.

I find this man cruel and insensitive due to the fact that this trailer is carrying a Rebuilt Salvage Title and I spent too much time looking for, and finally finding, someone to insure it. I would probably never have been able to sell it if I had wanted to. Still, I had prepared myself for that and was so excited to own it regardless.

I am happy this guy kept his toys and stayed home...It probably saved me from a boat load of headaches! Last night I had the BEST night's sleep that I've had in weeks!!

Now to find my 2006-2008 Safari 25' SE LS FB Queen with a CLEAR title!

I see nowhere you have put details of your "private conversation" on here for the world to read. You gave basic details that should be available in any classified listing and told us about transportation arrangements. If that bothered him then I would say you are better off.
