wrinkled wallpaper

Hi! I noticed that the wallpaper behind the kitchen sink is starting to wrinkle and needs to be replaced/removed. I also noticed that it is glued to a pcs of plywood that is also delaminating. What will I find after the removal of the wallpaper and the plywood? How is the paneling attached and is it difficult to remove?Pete
