Question wood endcaps inside?

looking for pics/experiences putting wood in in place of the original interior endcaps. I woud like to pull the fberglass endcap from the front of my '69 Tradewind and replace it with bent plywood or some type of veneer. the fiberglass unit is very bulky, and makes the front area feel much smaller than it would be with a smooth wall all the way down to the window.

(space, and the appearance of space this is a big concern for me, as i am a sculptor turning my A/S into a mobile studio, and the front area will be my primary workspace)

p.s. pureists rest easy, I am saveing and labeling everything so someday they can be re-installed.

attached is a 'before' pic. couches, table and curtains are now removed, and in storage. dogs are still around
