Why not latex over zolatone?
How does housepaint hold up over Zolatone? I know the Zolatone is almost impossible to get off (from what I've heard), so I would think ti would make a good base. I only ask because the Bambi has been painted inside with house paint - a very light pink. Thank goodness they didn't paint the woodwork! So I am wondering what is the best remedy for this - to try and strip it off, which seems unlikely - or to just pick a better color and give it one more coat?

Doit!
Hi, Stephanie...
That would be a great quick fix, if the pink looks like a good surface, pick your color, clean and paint...

Stefrobrts,
I was wondering the very same question, and rather than take a chance, "Making a bigger mess". I put the question to Andy. (InlandRV)
In so many words, he said,"To use a good quality auto primer paint as a base cover, and then to use any paint you want to refinis the surface". (As I understood it.)
If you decide to try that, let me know how it works for you..
For what it's worth...
ciao

Stef, if you feel really ambitious, look at how Overlander64
had his interior sponge-painted with Latex. Looks great!

I'm planning to use Zinsser Bulls Eye 123 as a base coat - sticks to anything - chek out the web site for it. A lot of Airstreamers have used it.

Sticks good. I'm trying to undo it.
The problem is the application was not great. I'll be tripping to get rid of the huge runs and brush marks and the baby blue color. See how much of the Zoloton is left and if it has a good hold and base then we might go with a latex.

I guarantee it will stick. PO painted the Zolatone in mine and it takes Aircraft Stripper to get it off. No evidence of a primer coat.
