Where can I get these early 60's curtain buttons?
These are original and are from a 63 Airstream. They are to hang all the curtains and the shower curtain and are original. Has anyone located a source for them? They are similar to the buttons on button fly jeans and are rivited style like a snap.
Thanks
RichardT

Richard, I got some in the sewing department at Wal-Mart. I have also seen similar snaps at Camping World. For more money, of course...

Terry I saw the snaps they have as well, but could not find these buttons, was it the snaps or the buttons I need that you found. If it is the buttons could you send me a picture and perhaps the stock # so i can find them and make new curtains for the Bambi.
Thanks

A thought..
RichardT,
What you need is..
Part # A304, or something close to that # for your particular needs.
called "Snap Kit"..made by RV Designer Collect.
Variation's of which can be found at any RV camp store.
The one that I found was perfect for fabric to wall mounting.
Comes with everything except for the hammer, which you need to use the flaring tool. (provided)
RV Designer can contacted at:

RichardT, our Bambi a 63 did not have this type of curtain hangers. Could you supply additional pictures of how these items worked. i.e. what they fastened to and how the curtains hang when installed.
Thanks Don

Perhaps the pictures dont show it clearly enough, but I do not need snaps. I need buttons. Again these are buttons like on button fly jeans.
They slide into the tracks mounted above the windoes and in the shower. They are for sure 100% original as I have seen them on several 1963 trailers and the pictures is from an original shower curtain from a 63 and the curtains in my Bambi were the originals as well.
I will add pictures of the tracks and mounting asap, as I am not near the trailer today.

In lieu of exact replacements, you may try something like this solution using buttons, that I posted a loooong time ago.

Thank you for the info!
I have provided pictures of the curtain track and shower track these fit into for those that are unfamiliar with them.
I may try to send one to Umx if they are willing to help match it up.

Similar but Different
Hi Richard, Glad you found something you can use to reattach the curtains. My 1964 Bambi II has the same tracks that you have in your pictures. There are plastic slides in mine that a curtain hook would "hang" into. I was just guessing that mine were "original" as well.

Silverhobby I am sure the kirsch plastic clips you have are original products.
I think Airstream used different things thruout the years and belive mine are original as well since I have seen them in more then a couple trailers, also I kinda like the ones I have better as they dont break!

To me they look like...
"bachelor" buttons that you can get at Joann's Fabrics or other sewing/fabric shops. Usually you get 6 buttons with backs for about $2.00. Might be worth a look.

Yes! they are also called "bachelor" buttons. I wanted to find Silver or nickel colored plain buttons and did at the link above for $3.00 a Dozen. I ordered 5 Dozen and should have a couple spares.
