Sunbrella for upholstery
Any one use Sunbrella to reupholstere their sofa?
I'm looking for something very durable and cleanable. Sunbrella comes in hundreds if colors and patterns.
I like the idea it cleans with bleach.
I figure if it is rated for constant outdoor service, it is good enough for seating surfaces!

Just because I haven't heard of it, that doesn't mean that it isn't done a lot. I could be totally wrong.
I don't think it would be great for sleeping on. I'm thinking that it would make you sweat.
AND…as far as using bleach on it. Mine comes clean with water. The hype is that mold and mildew won't grow on the fabric. It will grow on the dirt on the fabric but not the fabric itself. I have found this to be true on my awning, and have only cleaned it off with a hose.

A few owners decided to have the awning match the upholstery, or is it the other way around???
Who cares, because either way, it's beautiful.
I think Sunbrella sells to individuals.
Look up their web site for more information, if you wish.

I used to be in the outdoor furniture industry. We used sunbrella all of the time. Fyi, they have upholstery grade which is lighter weight and has a better hand than awning grade. I had slipcovers made for a sofa in our cottage and it wears great and cleans well. You should have great results in the AS.

There is a couple full timing with some small children that made couch cushions out of the stuff and they loved. I am sure you will find others who have done the same on here. I used it on the valances and on the trim board on the front of the gaucho. When I get around to putting in a dinet, I will probably make cushions out of the sunbrella fabric. The cost of getting anything upholstered is out of this world.

Up until the 2016 model year (when it changed to ultra leather), the Eddie Bauer model Airstream came standard with sunbrella upholstery. Ours is comfortable and wearing well after a few months of use - we are happy with it. Best, Joe

Go to Sailrite.com and you will see every Sunbrella fabric both indoor and outdoor, and other quality brands. The are used not only for traditional outdoor and indoor marine but for automotive, RV, and home decorating. Sailrite offers two catalogs one for marine and one for home as well as a wealth of "how to do" videos. It's a great resource for anyone in the upholstery business or do it yourselfers, or fabric shoppers. Find what you want and then comparison shop around for the best prices.

Awning fabric has been used for years on Zip Dee Chairs. I have one that's at least 25 years old. I don't see why it wouldn't be ok on a sofa, if that is what you like.

We used Sunbrella and it held up well. Easy to clean. We found the fabric and Googled the pattern and got a good deal on it.

We recovered all three convertible couches in our 310 with Sunbrella and love the results. Easy to clean up, waterproof and will not fade; what's not to love about Sunbrella fabric. Bought up the tail end of a large roll at a Lens Mills store.
Cheers
Tony

Ditto on the EB having all the cushions sunbrella.
I had additional cushions made at an online site that matched perfectly. There's a thread with links on the EB forum
