Stained Sandpiper Ultraleather. Tips to remove the stains?

So I was being an idiot and managed to spill a full glass of red wine all over the white sandpiper ultraleather seat cushions in my 2020 27FB Flying Cloud. We tried to clean it right away but it left some faint yellow stains (could be worse - could be red or purple). It’s not terribly noticeable but it’s going to drive me mad until I get it clean again. Does anyone have any experience getting stains out of the sandpiper ultraleather?

I thought about just re-upholstering everything to match but that’s probably not necessary for a 2020 trailer yet. I might even reach out to Airstream and ask for new sandpiper ultraleather covers to replace the stained few but I’m likely not taking the right approach to get it clean.

So far I’ve tried Meyers dish soap and a baking soda paste. Any other suggestions before I spend a ton of money to ease my OCD and anxiety?

Thanks!

Well, OxyClean is pretty harmless.

Might mix up some of that and try it, but I suspect you’re going to have a stain there.

Put a throw or something over it until you decide how to remedy it.

Despite the name, Ultraleather contains 0% animal skin in the product. It's actually made of pigmented polyurethane, which is extremely robust (e.g. my 1974 Corvette had polyurethane bumpers!). Airstream chooses this "fake leather" over the real stuff because it wears extremely well and hold its color almost indefinitely. It's a durability thing, not a cost thing--for those who have priced out replacement covers, you've seen how this product compares to leather covers...

Since this is a man-made polymer with dyes encapsulated within the plastic structure, you can use aggressive household cleaners and not worry about damage. Before selling our 2019 Flying Cloud, I removed a few "stains" from the dinette cushion by scrubbing with a 25% bleach solution. We've used Fantastic a few times, and Comet Bleach sprayers, too. Afterwards, the only evidence anything happened was the missing stain. The color and texture of the Ultraleather showed zero signs of the aggressive treatment.

The Comet-with-bleach spray does a nice job on red wine. Ask me how I know.

Isn't the Ultraleather zipped over the cushions? If yes, remove and wash in machine? The only residual red color might be in the thread.

Try a small area using hair spray. It cleans up ballpoint pen stains on real leather in a heartbeat.

Thank you all for the replies and help. I ended up getting the stains out with isopropyl rubbing alcohol and a baking soda paste. The rubbing alcohol removed most of the stains. I let it soak on the ultraleather with cotton balls. I took an old toothbrush to work the alcohol into difficult areas of the fabric. Rinsing the seat covers with warm water and letting them dry outside.

I went after the cushion with the toughest stain with baking soda paste. Worked it into the fabric and let it sit for a few hours and I was able to get it clean.

I contacted an airstream dealer and they do sell replacement cushion covers FWIW. Thanks all!

That’s good to know, that you found something that works, and thanks for reporting back here.

Have you tried a magic eraser? Take it easy, the magic eraser is made of melamine and a very fine form of abrasive. I wouldn’t suggest repeated use. But it did remove red wine from my white boat cushions. Chaparral uses a very high end cover as well. Make sure the sponge is wet.
