Square Carriers for Curtains

Hi all you brave upholsterers!

Okay I have completed all the measuring - taken down all the curtains and taken stolk of what I need.

Faired pretty good actually for the original curtain hardware - but I am baffled by the square carrier - can not seem to find it.

I have a feeling the original with that fancy spring loaded centre section is no longer available - and if it were it would probably be very expensive. By what I see with my curtains the PO has substituted the spring mechanism with elastic which is fine with me - however I need 4 of them and as I said can't seem to find them anywhere - gone through the threads and went on to several salvage links provided.

Here is a picture of what I am looking for - either spring loaded or without - and only need 4.

Second issue is the front wrap around curtain window system - gees my 2-wheel carriers have got "rigors" The PO's must have had the patience of Jobe! I was about to rip'em off they were so stiff. Is there a trick to getting these rollers to roll nicely? Is it a matter of backing off the tension between the wheels a bit.?

Also has anyone used something other than the "daggers" that really hurt when you prick yourself with them. Would it be easier to use the 2-wheel carriers with a blunt hook that would hook into an eye-ring that is sewn onto the curtain? Certainly would save poking holes in all my nice new curtains - when I get them all sewn up.

Any help always humbly appreciated!
