spackle & paint make what it ain't: patching the Fan-tastic vent garnish
Hello, this might be quicker & cheaper than buying a new piece of plastic. Now I can spend the $35 (and time waiting) on other things.
I patched the corners of this Fan-tastic Vent garnish with All-Purpose Bondo (top), which is a styrene plastic. I cut up a blister package from a dollar store item to make a mould for the corner , and taped it to the garnish(next down), and then filled it with bondo(3rd down) , and then removed the mould and faired the bondo with a block plane and sandpaper (bottom right). Small defects in the patches can be filled with Bondo dust and cyanoacrylate (crazy) glue. Next will be a spritz of paint to finish the job.
There are a few more tricks to doing this, if you wish to know more.
