Question Source of Blinds for Airstream?

I have a 2007 25' FBSE Safari with the factory installed "brushed aluminum" blinds on all the side windows. I want to add blinds to the large front and rear windows and would like to match them to the original equipment. The blinds have some part numbers on them but no reference to the manufacturer. Does anyone know who Airstream gets their current blinds from?

Thanks

I'm not sure where they get them, but there are several options...
1. Call their customer service line in Ohio and ask..
2. Try several sources and buy 1 to see if it matches and fits.. We ended up buing our new blinds from 3Day and Lowes and Home Depot before confimring Home Depot units fit into upper mounts and could be adapted for lower retainers.. I know HD offers brushed aluminum versions in 1" mini-blinds..

Don't know if it's who supplies AS, but I got a match from "three Minute Blinds".

Kinda like getting a drawer pull match from Home Depot.

Thanks for the information. 3 Day Blinds has 4 brands of micro blinds on their website; Christopher Lowell, Ultima, Transitions and Viewpoint. Do know which brand you purchased that were a match to the original Airstream blinds?

Try Blinds-To-Go. I recently purhased blinds that look like the Airstream blinds for my house. They have 12 locations in NJ and a quick turn around.

where do you hang the blinds, inside the frame or out. I just bought a 64 overlander and wanted 1/2 alum micro blinds in place of the curtains. If you hang them outside the frame, do you attach them to the ledge that the curtains attach to?
thanks

Andy... I'm not sure how the curtains are mounted on your 64 Overlander. The aluminum curtain tracks on my 2007 25' FB Safari are mounted to the bottom of the overhead storage cabinets that are mounted above my back and front windows. I moved the original curtain track away from the side of the trailer and installed the blinds adjacent to the wall of the trailer and screwed the mounting braket into the overhead cabinet. I then mounted the original curtain track on the interior side of the blinds so I can still use the curtains if I want additional privacy. I purchased the blinds from what I understand is Airstream's supplier, Ascot Enterprises Inc, Nappanee, IN 46550 (877) 773-7751.Attached are some phots showing my installation.

My blinds do not remain secured to the lower retaining clips, do you or others have suggestions on how these flexible plastic clips can be strengthened or replaced??

blinds

A fellow Airstreamer just replaced all her curtains for blinds and was very satisfied with what she received from justblinds.com. They gave great service and she received them in about 3 days. They were a great help on the phone with measurements, etc. They currently have a sale going on.

Ikea sells allu blinds that will do the job (you can also get a cutting kit that will let you customize the width yourself in minutes...) we used these in our 1989 moho to replace the wooden ones...

Got new roller shades to fit the original sizes from blinds.com
Their website was easy to order from and service was great.

Hi,
I'm looking to replace the 1" aluminum blinds on our 2004 Safari we just bought. They are too grimy to be cleaned. When you say the Home Depot blinds you got fit in the retainers, did they fit into the frames that the AS came with originally? I'd like to just fit new blinds into the same frames, which are quite sturdy.
Thanks,
Paula
