Hi All! First post....I've read a lot, thx for your help so far.
We just got our 2003 Classic, used from a dealer. Everything looks great, but the shades on the front window won't stay up. These are the widest ones, which may have sg to do with it.
Loosen the screws at the bottom of the strings on each side and tighten the strings, then retighten the screws. The strings must be kept quite tight to keep the blinds from sliding down.

I have just wound the bottom of the string around the bottom button with good results. I don't like loosening and tightening screws unless it's necessary cuz after a few times the hole will become loose and need a wooden match stuffed into it...

I don't usually find enough slack to wind the string around. The string doesn't have to be very loose for the shade to slide down.

I don't know how your shades are built but the same thing was happening to my shades and to fix that problem I made a strap that has one end permanently connected to the back side of the frame of the shade and attached a fastener off of an old worn out pair of bib overalls to the other end of the strap. When I want the shade to stay up I pull the shade to the full up position and then wrap the strap under neath it and hook the bib fastener onto a hook on the front side.
I hope that made sense, a picture's better than 1K words, unfortunately the MH's not near by to snap a pic. Good luck. Stuart
