Selling Custom Curtains - 1987 29' Sovereign

Hi Everyone - I had a 1987 29' sovereign that was completely restored a few years back but then got totalled by an 18 wheeler about two months after the restoration. To make a long story short the drapes were custom done by my mother who is an avid quilter (seperate dedicated quilting room, multiple machines, etc......there is no question she's gifted when it comes to making things out of material).

So, said drapes have been stored in breathable bags for the last few years and I need to go ahead and sell them and give her the money cause it doesn't look like I'm going to use them. I've attached a few pictures to give everyone an idea of what they look like. They have all new tabs, elastic, snaps, etc and are fully lined with Roclon Thermal Suede Lining. I also have extra matching material and lining.

Please PM me if interested and let me know what you'd be willing to pay for these

I will provide an unconditional guarantee that whoever buys these will be satisfied with the quality.

If you are really interested and need a sample of material I can get you one.

FYI......My wife and I will be leaving on a cross country trip around the middle of April so my hope is to have these sold before we leave. I'd prefer to sell these to someone on the forum but if I don't get any hits within a week or so I'll stick them on ebay.

Thanks,
Joe

Hey Joe I wondered what became of you.
I'd bid on em but they are not gonna fit my 75 rear bath.
At least the rear bedroom ones would be overkill and not sure on the fronts.
They do look absolutely professional though.

Why have you given up the Airstream life? Any thoughts on resuming it?
Were you satisfied with your insurance settlement?
How'd you manage to retreive the drapes?
What else were you able to keep?

Always curious if lost members ever come here to at least peruse? Do you?
Hope you will stay in touch. (don't forget your password)

Well I have "temporarily" given up the Airstream life......in a sense. I had two Airstreams after the Sovereign....a 25' '03 Classic and then an 84' 270 motorhome. When my daughter was born, just about 3 yrs ago, it became very hard for us to go camping with a newborn. Between insurance and covered storage fees it just didn't make sense for us to keep the motorhome....so we sold it to a very nice gentleman in New York who I believe is now on the forum.

The reason I said we'd given up on it in a "sense" is that my wife, daughter and I are just about ready to embark on a 2 month cross country trip in a 17' trailer that I'm renting from a private owner. So we don't have an Airstream but we'll definitely be Airstreaming in spirit while we tool across the country in our SOB.

With regard to the insurance settlement it was very fair and the drapes were the only item I took out of the trailer before handing it over to the insurance company. Just couldn't bear to see them go to auction.....my mom spent waaaaayyyyy too much time on them for that......and yes I still occassionally peruse the site.

Thanks for asking!
Joe
