Question Removing wallpaper from 76 tradwind

I just purchased a 76 tradewind. The previous owner started removing some of the wall covering and refinishing the wall. The bathroom door is in bad shape. They tore the wood removing the paper and left large areas of glue. What should I use to remove the rest of the paper without harming the wall? I also would like to know what works well as a replacement. I am not sure I want to re-wallpaper. I would really like to make this trailer very retro, so I am open to suggestions.
Thank you,

Take the old material off, and replace it with "Ozite." It's a thin wall covering similiar to carpet.
Make sure you use an excellent adhesive.

The older vintage Airstreams had Zolotone. Assuming you fill the gouges you mention, Zolotone is a great product for durablity & hiding imperfections. It's a "speckled paint-like finish" and available in many colors. It is more expensive than traditional paint but much more durable.

Here's a previous thread that talks about removing the vinyl & using Zolotone.

Here's a link to the Zolotone webpage.

Good luck!

Hi,
I have some wallpaper delamination as well.
I would like to find some original wallpaper as
there is only damage on the underside of the overhead
bins and the bathroom door.
The room divider is the same pattern in vinyl.
Anyone have a roll of this laying around?
It looks more like contact paper than wallpaper.

Replacing Roof locker contact paper

Andrea,

I tried removing the contact paper under my roof lockers. BIG NIGHTMARE. I just don't have the right tools to do what needed to be done. My soulution was to take my trailer to someone that specializes in redoing old airstreams. She is replaceing all the wallpaper on the walls and roof lockers. The paper looks like an off white swirl to me. You should be able to pick it up at any wallpaper store.

Good Luck
Lisa
