Remove black streaks on interior

I have a 2000 Excella . I removed the front couch to replace the converter and found black streaks on each side of the front window. Unsuccessfully searched forums on how to removed the “mold” from “mouse fur “
Anyone successfully removed it with what chemical?
Next will check windows for leaks.

It may not be the result of leakage, but condensation from the windows running down the wall for years.

Bleach of some sort (I use peroxide) will often remove all or nearly all of the stain from the "mouse fur."

mix white vinegar and water in spray bottle. apply to effected area, use a small brush (old toothbrush works well) to massage area. No stinky bleach smell and won't cause discoloration to fabrics.

I believe it is aluminum oxide or something leached out of the aluminum window frames or curtain track. In my 25 I had some success with repeated treatments of Oxyclean followed with a carpet cleaning soultion in the upholstery wand of a Bissell carpet cleaner. Spray the Oxyclean and let it soak. Followup with the carpet cleaner. Be prepared to do all the mousefur as you’ll be surprised at how clean the treated area is.

The already mentioned remedies may work. I have done all of them with various degrees of success. The approach that worked best for me and the one I use regularly to clean my mouse fur 'spots' is a product named Folex. It is available from a number of outlets including Home Depot and Lowes.

Folex is an industrial grade carpet spot cleaner that does not use harsh chemicals and is a very effective surfactant to loosen the small, embedded particles. You apply, let sit for a few minutes, and then dab up the remaining moisture with paper towels. Depending on the degree of stain, you may have to assist the chemical using a toothbrush. It does not have an odor nor leaves behind a sticky surface to attract dust.

I had the same issue with our AS. Use a 10% bleach to water mix in a spray bottle. Spray the stained area and work the cleaning solution into the mouse fur with an old toothbrush. Allow it to soak for 10 minutes. Then, use the upholstery cleaning attachment on a Rug Doctor carpet cleaner to finish the cleaning job. Repeat if necessary. Should solve the problem. Did for me.
