Redoing interior walls

My 34' 87 Excella 1000 continues to be a work in progress but we are really loving the journey. Thanks for all the help from the forums.
I saw an ad in this issue of Trailer Life by GSM that they do zolatone applications. Is that having the interior walls redone, ie removing that tired looking wheat design? I would appreciate any direction on updating the walls from your experiences.

If you wish to use Zolotone, the walls must be scrubbed very clean, and then primed, then the Zolotone can be applied.

However, if you scrub the walls clean, which you must do anyway, then you can apply "Future" acrylic floor polish.

That material will make the vinyl clad walls and ceiling sparkle.

Try about a square foot or so. I think you will like it.

We have done that to many customers trailers.

What are the other options

Andy,
You state if you wish to use Zolatone. Do you recommend another option for redoing the interior walls?

You can add "Ozite" or the foam backed vinyl that Airstream has used for the walls.

But, nothing can be added, not even paint, unless the walls are absolutely clean.

You can paint the interior walls, but again, they must first be absolutely clean, and then seriously scuffed with 100 to 120 grit sandpaper. Not gently, but serious scuffing.

Bathroom Painting

Just finished painting the bathtub with Por15, turns out very nice. Painted the walls first sanding with 120 grit then Kilz as a primer then did a finish coat of white latex. BIG improvement will post before and after pics when done. Thinking now of painting the rest of interior. Good luck in your pursuit

Andy
Blu_Hwy_Ldy has done a great job sponge painting the interior of her Safari over the vinyl clading. She found Sherwin-Williams primer (I think) that sticks to plastic. Really a nice job. PM her for details.

I don't know how it will stick to your walls but last year I painted a 60 Avion with Multispec. It looks like it sounds specks of different colors in a basecoat. I used their waterbase version which can be rolled but is best applied with HVLP (high volume low pressure) spray equipment that can be rented. Make sure you use a good unit. The $99 Horbor Freight jobbies don't cut it. Real retro but you can also get purdy contemporary. From what I understand this type of paint was originally developed to paint the interior of car trunks in the 40s. The Avion had it as original paint but PO painted over in flat Navajo White. You can find Multispec on a web search.

Are prepainted Aluminum sheets easy to come by? If so any idea on the cost?
