When you repainted what sheen did you use? We have a matte finish now and I think it probably should have at least been semi-gloss. Just looks dirty to me with the finger prints. Anybody do glossy and have any regrets?

Glossy cleans well but shows every imperfection in the material you are painting as well as it magnifies imperfections in your painting quality. My preference is a satin luster, then semi gloss, but never a matt finish, as exactly as you have noticed it holds dirt and fingerprints to well as isn't very washable.
i re-painted my home with matte paint and AHHH it's so much more relaxing...it melts away into a soft surface.
I guess I'd rather see a temporary imperfection that I can wipe away than constant imperfection glaring at me. Satin is fine, but still has enough sheen to show imperfections.
