Mixing dinette fabrics and sleep comfort

Since we'll soon pick up an Argosy Minuet to "make our own," I've been paying more attention to upholstery. I notice that a lot of restrauants that we frequent have a "leather" bottom cushion with a fabric back. I like this look, and I like the inherent practicality. (Just have to keep my wife away from making everything inside orange.)

I'm wondering though - when it's all arranged into a bed, will the different coverings be noticable? I guess with a thick enough topper, it wouldn't make a difference. Has anyone redone their dinette in a similar fashion?

Thanks
Tom
