I've got a gallon of Zolatone...

Upon combing Airforums on how to best tackle freshening up the interior of our 1973 Safari, I came upon a lot of talk about Zolatone along with its original use in 50s-60s Airstreams.

I knew the expense of Zolatone but still searched it and immediately tried a local Sherwin Williams automotive store. I walked in, asked and the guy at the counter who then went into the back and pulled out one gallon can. He said that was all they had.

It had rust on the cap, so it had been there some time.

He told me: the retail was $165.00, wholesale was $98.00 and the cost was $63.00. He sold it to me for the cost. That was $100+ break. I bought it figuring I would find a way to use it.

Now that's what I need to figure out. The caveat: it's silver gray.

Has anyone used it on an endcap (like this apparently ABS plastic kind on a '73) before? Could it be used somewhere else I am not thinking? Ideas?

Otherwise, I'm not a 100% sure what to do with the Zolatone. There's not enough to use on all the vinyl walls through the 23' trailer. For that, I am planning on cleaning the heck out of it, scotch guarding it, using Killz or a similar oil-based primer and then an appropriate latex paint.

But any advice is appreciated. Got almost all my major technical issues fixed, so now it's onto the interior aesthetics..
