interior skin repair

Hi! I removed the built-in cabinet above the bed and it revealed that there is no aluminum skin there, just exposed insulation. I aim to renovate my 2001 Excella with painted white interior walls. Can I buy the aluminum skin to repair this from Home Depot or do I need to special order it?
PS Wish I could include a picture but it wants the URL for it?
Thanks! Jenn

A good source for sheet aluminum is airparts.inc. Depends on how much you need. Home Depot has small sheets of aluminum (in our experience). So, if that's all you need, it would be fine, especially since you are planning on painting it and not trying to match the aluminum "look". We have also gotten aluminum for small projects at Fleet Farm, but not sure if they are in Montana.

To paint your walls, make sure they are very clean and well-rinsed. Use a good primer like Bondz. We used exterior latex paint, and it still looks good 12 years later with occasional touch ups. We did paint over vinyl wallpaper, though, so might be a little different for you.
Good luck!
