Interior Skin Discoloration 2001 Safari 25

Good evening!

We are in the process of an interior renovation of our "new" 2001 Safari 25 Model C. We pulled the mouse fur off the bedroom area and found this discoloration or corrosion that looks like rust around the windows in the rear (both windows). Is this normal? Any actions we should take before installing marine vinyl on the walls such as primer or sanding off the rust/corrosion? I'm afraid the discoloration may penetrate the vinyl.

We had a seal tech test (all good) and a new gasket installed on the rear window at a local repair shop before we even brought it home.

Thank you for your suggestions.

My guess: not rust - glue used to adhere the wall covering

Ok, I'll go with glue! Thanks for the quick feedback. We'll move forward with the vinyl install.

There is a product that Bill, a senior tech at the Airstream Service center uses to remove the glue. He says it's a tough job to perform. You might call the service center and get the name of the product.
