Interior Renovation
Hey y'all, just finished reflooring (laminate by Mohawk), and reupholstering the interior of our 2000 30' Excella. Also wired for satellite TV.
Other than about 25 hours of time, and some dollars, the job went very well. I removed all of the interior, including valances, took that to a local upholsterer whom I work with in my furniture restorate business.
Also installed a Fantstic vent in the front where the original Airstream vent was originally......
All of the projects were relatively simple.....
Oh yeah, the old drapes were pretty grimy, we washed them and they turned out like new!

Judging by your avatar...the airstream must have looked like a bomb went off in it during the whole process

The drapes were grimy...
I was surprised to see that you washed the drapes. Did you use any special care to wash them? I would have thought they would have had to be dry cleaned. Washing sounds so much better.

Waynon, be careful washing your drapes because of the carriers. Most of them are dry clean only for that reason.

Use Woolite, wash in cold water, the carriers came out fine. After we got a price on dry cleaning, and a price on new drapes, there really wasn't much to loose. They came out, looking like new after my wife pressed them...

you did all of that in 25 hours? i have to agree with my fellow posters, we would really like to see some pictures of your work. did you remove the furnishings or just run the new flooring up to them. it sounds like a huge undertaking! glad it worked out so well for you.

Airstreamers
Sorry to take so long in getting back to you....yes 25 hours was the magic number. I removed the interior furnishings, laid the laminate, wall to wall. The job looks a lot more intimidating than it really is. I have a pretty well equiped shop.
We will be in north central Indiana from July 15 through Aug 15, if you would like to see it....cell phone number is 251.923.6000.

I have a 2006 Classic and recently removed all drapes, washed in Woolite and cold water. I pretreated a few stained areas with a spot remover. Hung to dry. They look like new. Happy Monday Carolyn
