Interior aluminum ceiling rails

I was wondering if anyone has ran into my situation of the aluminum rails that hold the two foot wide center pieces to the ceiling being about a foot short on each end when I put them back up. The PO had removed them prior to purchase, so not sure about them. They don't look bad but don't need the sheets coming loose going down the road. Thought about spacing some rivets on each end to help secure and look descent. These are in a 1972 31' Sovereign, the rails are 18' long and don't appear to have been cut on. Any input would be appreciated.

Ceiling rail tracks

Since no one has had this problem on short rails does anyone out there have the tracks that are not the full length and could you tell me how the last foot of sheeting on each end is attached. Does anyone know where I could find about 4' of this track, two pieces at 2' long will work also if I decide to redo my tracks. Thanks Jim

I don't know, but to the best of my recollection my tracks ran full length.

I think that riveting up the last foot or so of center panel would have no implications.

In fact, since my inside aluminum panels are now not visible, the full length of my center panel is screwed in, and not in the grove at all.

Brevi tempore!
