How much foam & fabric???

Hey. I'd really appreciate someone giving me an estimate on the dimensions of foam and the amount of fabric needed to replace the mouse-chewed gaucho in my 64 Overlander.
Sorry, to re-post this question, but I'm headed 1000 miles east in a couple of weeks to where my AS, Surf Scoter, lives, and really need this info before I leave. SS is very remote!
Thanks loads.

Hi wigwag,

I used six inch foam and about four yards of fabric for my 76 on the seat and back itself. I might suggest getting 5 yards and then you'll have a bit extra to do the sides etc.

Good luck!

Make sure that when you are buying fabric you consider the width. Most upholstery fabric is 59 inches wide. You may also want to wrap your new foam in a layer of dacron batting (1 inch batting) to increase the comfort factor.

Sorry about the mice - they are tough to get rid of...

Thanks! The stuff I have my eyes on is 110" wide so it should be good. Maybe I'll risk 4 yards?

One caution on fabric

For What it is Worth: Having sewed for more numbers of years than I care to admit, I always go extra on fabric. If you run out, sometimes you can get the same pattern but the dye lot is different and then you end up with two different colors. And you will be able to tell as they sit next to each other. I figure I can always use the extra to make pillows or add to something else on the trailer.
