Talking ***Hand-painted kitchen tile for WEIGHT REDUCTION (& STEEZ)

Hey folks I'm unsure whether anyone has talked about this or done it before but I wanted to share a little something we just completed in the kitchen of our '77 Airstream renovation... hand-painted decorative tile! As a way of combating the issue of wall flexing and weight addition that comes with actual ceramic tile backsplashes. What do you think? Few images attached.

I have some process shots and videos on my instagram if you had any further interest @leespence.design - I'll be adding some similar work to the living room area too. Along with more limewash and such. We're going full color on this project! Let me know if anyone would like some of the steps to achieve this written out.

Thanks! More soon. The construction continues....

- Lee.

Thatís gorgeous, but I immediately am concerned that it will not stay in place if you travel with your trailer.

Keep us posted.

Thanks Maggie! Reading this made me smile because I think you've been tricked by the effect I've created for the exact reason you mentioned... The "tile" is a mural on the walls, painted on, not actual tile, so there's no concern of it not staying in place - it's there forever

I appreciate your kind words and comments Maggie, rclay416 and DBHent !! - definitely a lot of work but that plan with this project has been to really dive in and create some one-off elements inside the rig.
