Got new foam, need assistance

Hello all,
I'm almost ready to start cutting, I know that you add 1" to width and length when measuring existing cushions but absent any cushions to measure do I just cut the actual size of the bench or still add 1" allowing that when stuffing into covers they will shrink about 1/2" on all sides? Thanks so much, I've google, looked on Youtube and can't seem to find anyone that deals with this situation.

Cut your foam 1" longer on each dimension than the finished covering. Doing so will help ensure the fabric surface is held taut. Your finished fabric dimensions (not including seam allowances) should match the size of the surface.
