That pattern would make a great Hawaiian shirt! Would really make a presence in your AS!

My retinas have finally recovered from opening the link. If I use that fabric, will I need to have lights in the trailer on to see at night??

Yes, but you may not need your awning lights sitting outside!

Summerkid... Help!! I am trying to break my wife of a fabric addiction. Wife has over 3000 yds of fabric including 13 cedar chests full. I think 8 sewing machines, a serger, embroidery machine and not sure what else in HER rooms plus a quilting machine, spinning wheels, etc. Our Flying Cloud is tastefully decorated with a Flamingo Shell lamp, Flamingo prints, Flamingo figurines, and the obigatory plastic Flamingoes for outdoors, etc. And now a link to Flamingo Fabric at an online quilting store.. YIKES!!!

hey, 54 ... i probably have her beat, except for the number of sewing machines. does she have a 12' gammill or a 14'?!
i usually buy my fabric 200 yards at a time ... so the studio is overflowing ... it has 2 balconies, and both have supplies stacked on them ... miscellaneous things, like blueprinting chemicals, go out in the garage ... boxes of antique kimonos fill the attic ... full bolts of blank silk, canvas & cotton go in the basement dyeing studio ... the guest bedroom is for batting & books...
just try to imagine your wife with no spouse to placate, a huge house to be filled, endless curiosity about anything new, and zero ability to deny herself anything ....

Hi Summerkid.... Well you made me go out to the forbidden room to find out it is a APQS Millenium 12'. Please keep this quiet as she doesn't want anyone to know in her quilting or fiber arts guilds that she has one. I actually think she has more than 8 sewing machines but I don't go in that room either. Last time I went in there she accused me of moving something and I spent the day looking for it.
We have a good size house but it is already filled. Feel a little like a cave dweller as there are so many tunnels in some rooms. Another addiction is books. About 300 to 400 quilting books, too. Do I sound like I am venting?? I really am supportive about her passion. I think.

Hey Gary and Lurleen,
I had my cushions redone in blue jean material. Unfortunately the material
wasn't thick enough and it always looks rumpled. I don't no much about this
stuff but I know that butt prints weren't the look that I was going for.+

that cracks me up! of COURSE she accused you of moving something! you probably tripped over it!
i know women who just BUY fabric & the accoutrements but that's all the creativity they display. and that is kind of an obnoxious habit. but if all that fabric & equipment leads to gorgeous, rewarding quilts created by your wife's hands & imagination, then that's a beautiful thing.
hey, how come no one clobbered me over my misspelling of "dyeing"???? too late; it's fixed now. HA!

Well she really does good work and is still learning. She mostly makes quilts to donate because her mother was a quilter and we have bunches of hers. She made quilts for the kids of 9/11 plus makes them for our local hospice care and friends. That fabric really does come in handy. She made all new curtains for the Flying Cloud plus reupholstered the gaucho and chairs, too. But the '40 or '50's quilt on the rear bed was from a yard sale. Love those yard sales.

Now this is a great example of why I LOVE this forum. Not a day goes by that I am not learning from all of you. Your description of room of silks and stores of antique kimono sends goosebumps up my spine, Summerkid, and 54, what incredible gifts your spouse is making! Exciting. Just purely exciting!

No worries for the innocent passer by, I plan on using a silver cloth backing on all curtains just like the original one I have a sample of.
