Fabric Choices for Gaucho

I know that upholstery fabric is the best choice for the cushions. However, having two kids and two dogs I really need something that is machine washable. I have made the rounds through JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby, Hancoks Walmart, and spent a few hours in many online retailers. Although I have found some upholstery fabric that is machine washable, it limits your choice in design. I haven't found anything that I like yet. I still plan on checking some local shops that sell only upholstery with a larger selection.

However, I was wondering:

Has anyone used other fabrics?
If so what type?
How does it wear?
Suggestions?

Thanks in advance if you can help!!

We agonized a bit, decided on denim. Since we have dog covers/throws on all our home furniture, we guess it will be the same in the camper. I am sure she will make up some custom pillows to add color and textures..

After spending weeks looking at all the big retailers, and online I found a place here locally that usually sells to upholstry shops. Bought some terrific heavy duty fabric that was in stock and he sold it to me for less than $8.00 per yard. I asked the upholstery guy where he buys his fabrics, and he gave me the lead. We have since sold the trailer, but in the year we used it it held up wonderfully.

Make some calls, and ask around, it really pays off.

Good luck!

I Was thinking of using denim also. One of my dogs likes to "dig" so need something closely woven and strong. Will also use covers .

Fabric

We have had some very industrial fabric in the Caravel for years. But after visiting the link posted above I am pretty sure we are going Parrothead!

I like the denim idea, alot. I know it's easily washable. I am going to check out some from the bolt at a fabric store. I also liked quite a few on newtoto.com, alot. And really at good prices. Some of them are listed for the same price as denim.

I went from having no idea, to many! Choices, Choices, man I love having some. Thanks again. Really appreciate the help!
