Custom made Organic mattress for 08 Safari

We had recently purchased a couple of mattresses for our kids, from the family owned/operated Natural Mattress Store here in Northern California. They are made locally, with 100% natural latex with organic cotton covers quilted to organic wool fiber with an organic cotton backing.

We mentioned to them that we have an Airstream, with a "non traditional" shape and they were able to make us a custom mattress that fits perfect in our Safari.

I like that! Did you bring them the original mattress for them
to work with or did you just provide them with the measurements? Now that they've made one I wonder if they can replicate it without re-measuring (in that I'm here in NY)?

They took our original mattress and used it to cut a template, which I think they kept on file at the factory.

The cost was only $200.00 more to have it custom made.

As for the weight, it's heavier than the original spring mattress, they had to use an 100% all natural latex foam to be able to cut the round corners.

Was there a particular reason you felt the need to replace the original mattress? I've never had a problem with mine so just curious.
