well since hubby was in the hospital so long and our wonderful Yorkie had run of the trailer for most of the days he decided that he would take the curtains down for us ... so think I will go with the blinds and some curtains I found at Pier 1 and use velcro .... so anyone needing curtains removed let me know and you can borrow our dog

I have been thinking about making this same change for some time... actually, long enough now that the rods I wanted have been discontinued. My only concern with adding curtains that do not extend along the walls is that, when they are slid open, the bulk will *encroach* on the view through the window. When they open along the wall, I get that great, unobstructed view. Compromises.....

Just found this thread and couldn't stop laughing for a while. I hope I forget about the casket by the time we go camping again.

I came across this thread, trying to find any example of anyone who has successfully dye their curtains...and since the original post is 11 years old, I guess its safe to say this thread is on dyeing is dead; but anyway maybe your airstream was a hearse at some point.

I read that Airstream produced some of these, immediate family could also ride along, quite interesting.

I can't have these things and feel like I am in a huge casket !!! So has anyone just got rid of these casket liners and gone with traditional like curtains and just put the over the windows and not the whole walls ???? If anyone has gone with reg like curtains how do you hang them ? Wondering why AS has the casket curtians

I know! They're awful! I took out "all" the curtains in my Bramble and made new ones. Not hard to do!

Last summer I replaced our "traditional Airstream-style" curtains and came up with an alternative using cafe' rods that work great for us! Not sure how they could be adapted to the curved panoramic windows in some Airstreams, but they definitely don't look like a coffin!

Well...
I've told a few people this last year...
I'm fixing it up because I'm going to die in it.

Dying in it not a problem, burying it is a big issue🦩

How about burial at sea? No digging necessary.

Glad to see this 2009 thread resuscitated back to life, with this attention-grabbing update from the OP!

Sorry Kim, but your first shot may be continuing the "lying/dying in a coffin" theme, with that white lining on the underside of the lid, and the "viewing port" at eye level. Is this so you can see the fish swimming by, per Gene?
And what is that short white vertical roller on the right?
A grab bar for sitting upright? Be careful not to bump your head on the lid! [Although at least it is padded.]

Imagine the door to the casket storage area flying open on a hard right turn, and dumping the casket on the road right in front of some poor unsuspecting souls?
Thanks again for the thread resurrection . . . definitely one "to dye for!"

Hair dye? Maybe so you'll look younger in your Airstream premium coffin.
