Cleaning Stained Drapes

Hi Everyone! We have a 92 Excella that we bought last summer. We're getting around to the fine tuning and want to pay some attention to the drapes. They are in great condition, but have some staining on the inside fabric that faces the window. These stains were there when we bought it and have a feeling they've been there awhile. Is there any way to clean the drapes without ruining them? Any safe solution to clean them with that will successfully or greatly reduce the appearance of the stains? Thanks!

I was able to just wash my curtains in my Argosy on the gentle cycle in a front loader washer. I did use a pre-treater (can't remember which one) on the stains and they came out beautifully. Don't bleach them since it will ruin the elastic tab material.

We recently had the same problem with a customers drapes.

We hung them up in the shop, and sprayed them with plain water.

WOW. The stains disappeared, completely.

My wife and I soaked ours in some Oxy-Clean and then sun dried them. Look 100% better...

We washed the drapes for our 96 excella in the top loading home washing machine/gentle cycle, and they came out fine.
