cleaning shades

Any suggestions on how to clean the shades - the pull tabs are so nice we'd like to keep them rather than get new ones... thanks

I have a 1994 25' Excella. I 've tried cleaning the shades but I think that I'll just replace them. Should be able to have them cut at Home depot or Lowes. I'll just save the nice metal pull tabs and install them on the new shades.

Are they Vinyl?

Most newer shades are vinyl and can be cleaned with any vinyl cleaner. Older cloth ones can be cleaned with old fashioned wall paper cleaner. However, if they are worn, new ones aren't really costly and the pulls can be moved (unscrewed or rivets drilled out) to the new ones.

Wink Shades

I'd just throw them out. It's not worth the work. You can install the old tabs on the new shades. And you can get some very nice shades, nicer than the old ones at Home Depot or Lowe's.

test a spot first

But what i do is put them in a bath tub of water with a gallon of bleach and let them set for about 30 min. Then i take a sponge wipe over then and then take them outside and hose them down again and let them dry .. put them back up good as new...in most cases
