Cleaning interior aluminum?

Hi everyone -

We are prepping our unit for winter and would like to clean the interior fully. What is recommended for cleaning the interior aluminum above the sink area and walls ('08 FB SE.)

Thanks!

Sandy....We use Walbernize RV Seal Wax on both the exterior and interior aluminum panels of our 2007 25'FB. Seems like it does a good job and doesn't remove the clear coat finish on the panels.

If its not real dirty, just dusty, waterspots or fingerprints- I use Meguiars Quik Detail.

have you checked the owners manual?

section D is very detailed on ext care and section E covers interior cleaning (all the surfaces/fabrics)...

"Trailers with aluminum interior skin (Upgrade package)
should follow the same cleaning instructions
detailed in the Exterior section of this manual for the exterior skin."

so IF u need to remove tar, splattered bugs, acid rain, salt, tree sap/leaves and so on...

follow the same steps as cleaning the OUTSIDE.

the inner skin is the SAME STUFF as the outer skin, including the clearcoat.

here is what ALCOA recommends for cleaning...

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f441...oat-18760.html

i am not a fan of walb' for newer streams inside or outside, and there are excellent HOW 2 clean threads like this...

there is an older/longer thread on this topic (interior alum care) here...

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f46/...ior-20385.html

given the unit is headed for storage this is LESS of a concern, but for everyday use consider that...

NONE of the common exterior auto care products are SAFE around eating or food prep areas

__________

why not just use water, a few drops of dish soap, microfiber towel and other simple products?

go back and read the instructions from alcoa.

IF u plan on WAXING the interior skin, any mild NON abrasive wax will work fine.

detailing sprays are probably ALL that is needed for shine in the NON galley areas.

cheers

After you clean that metal, you can apply some "Future Floor Acrylic" which is a floor wax.

If it's good enough to walk on, it will certainly do a great job keeping the aluminum looking great, permanently.

That same floor wax, can be applied to the vinyl covered walls as well. It will not only protect the vinyl, it will also add a nice sheen to the appearance.
