86 Sovereign Curtains

Ok I messed up. I am looking at putting curtains back in the front 3 windows. I'm planning on using the factory tracks and guideshowever I don't have any of the original curtains for a template. Does anyone have dementions or know where i can get the measurements for these windows? Click image for larger version

We just finished sewing new curtains, my part is typing this up.
Measure from the top of the track to the bottom of the track and add 2" which will cover the seam allowance. The curtain will then be 1/2" larger top and bottom that way, (finished size).

The width is the length of the track plus fabric for the pleat(s) plus 2" for seam allowance. For the side curtains adding 4 more inches which will allow the overhang will block the light from coming in.

I'm doing curtains on an 86 Sovereign too

I'm in the middle of replacing all curtains on an '86 Sovereign as well! See photos attached. I'm using a measurement of 26.5 inches from top to bottom of finished curtain. And it might be too tight. I would probably do them at 27.25 in. if I started over so the curtain completely conceals the track from view.

The real key measure is where the straps end up when stretched. I wanted a very tight look when finished. The ones I'm replacing sagged and looked awful.

After finishing the curtain hemming, sew your first set of two glides top and bottom then test them on the entire length of the track (it's not the smae measure the entire length) to see if you like the fit. I am eyeballing the placement and checking frequently. It's tedious, but I'm happy with the result. Good luck!

See my other thread on elastic here.

With the tailor ability of Donata Szalek, some fabric and basic measurements from me she sewed these beautiful replacement curtains. She can make you a set too. If interested contact me. Click image for larger version
