The better half and her friend wandered around the local fabric stores and she finally found an upholstery grade fabric to make cushions for the dinette I built last winter.
I thought hard woods and veneers were expensive.
Ha.
Good material is $25 bucks a yard but the foam for 11 linear feet of dinette cushions was about $350. Don’t skimp on the foam.
All together materials, including padding, gimp and zippers, ran about $600. I was lucky to be able to have a family member do the sewing.
This computer doesn’t have the photos on it but cushions came out great. I’ll find and post them later to give you an idea of what she found.
If you can do the work yourself then start hunting for a pattern you like and start researching the different grades, types and usage for the foam you need.
The other option is to find a shop that does upholstery for boaters. They will have the fabric samples you can order in, the right foam to use and the heavy-duty machines to do the sewing. Expect to pay for the expertise and experience however.
