72 Tradewind Shower Curtain Material

The snaps are finally starting to pull out of my 72 Tradewind shower curtain. It seems to be a highly water resistant kind of nylon. I would like to make a new one of exactly the same dimensions.

Does anyone know where I can buy material that exactly duplicates the original nylon material?

Thanks,
John

Shower Curtain

Hi John, we also have a 72 Tradewind. Ours came with out a curtain and I couldnt get any info so I fabricated a curtain with snaps that completely enclose the bather. It will not win any awards, but, all the water goes down the drain which to me is worth the price of admission because I dont beleive in the wet bath theroy where water splashes on everything in the bathroom!

Just a thought, perhaps a local awning manufacturing company could supply a material close to your original? If you provided them with your original for a template, they could also install all of the snaps and grommets (for the curtain rod fasteners) for you. Good luck!

Great idea. My brother does that kind of work but it would be finished by 2020 if I gave it to him to work on. I'll find an awning co.. Thanks for the input. I looked at the curtain again and it has a tag that says it's 100% polyester. Who'd a thunk? Feels like nylon.

Shower curtains made of 100% polyester can be purchased at Lowes or Walmart and cut to size and shape needed for your unit. It sews easily and you can enclose a 1/2" twill tape inside the side hems that will enforce the snaps needed.
