1960 accordion door vintage hardware
I have the original hardware for one of my accordian doors for my 1960 Overlander, but I need the hardware for the other missing door. We took the original apart removed the steel rods and reinforcement that were made of metal and were located in the header. My wife has the vinyl material and is makeing exact copies for the Airstream. Where can I buy the metal parts, or does anybody want to sell of give us their old accordian door. It needs to be from that era of Airstream.

Good idea. I will take a photo tomorrow and post it. I know somebody out there who is restoring a 1960 has the old ones. I just need some old nasty airstream folding doors and I can recycle the parts.
Thanks.

There are two Airforums members in south & central Mississippi currently doing Overlander projects. They are submariner('59) and HiHoAgRv('63). It's worth a shot.

I am posting pics of the old accordian door and the header metal pieces I need. I think I can go to a store where they sell metal and get the thin metal wire.

You can get the nylon eyelets from Vintage Trailer Supply. Look for "Large Eye Sliders".

What size are the nylon sliders and how many would you need? Length overall or ID of the hole should be enough to distinguish, if they aren't all the same for curtains, doors, whatever. I have some extras from my curtains. If they're the same size and I have enough, I'll mail them to you.
I used the nylon curtain ones for my replacement accordion doors. I used curtain fabric for the cloth and vertical blinds for the stiffener and riveted the cloth and vertical blind to the eye of the slider. They work just fine in our '71 accordion door tracks.
