Valley of the Gods, Utah
Hello everyone,
Just wrote an article on the Valley of the Gods in Southern Utah. A short Airstream could get in there but it would have to have a decent ground clearance.
Anyhow there are places in the area where you can Boondock, unhitch and visit this cool valley.

Wow thanks for the link Mike. I had no idea that was even there. Very cool looking place. Shawn and I might have to make the trek to check it out sometime soon. Hope all is well with you and Karen.

We drove through there last May. We also preferred it because of the solitude, we parked on the side of the road for about an hour waiting for the sun to set and never had a car go by. We were camped at Goulding's and just drove all around the area. Gooseneck St. Park is an awesome sight, a few campers there, and the Moki Dugway was alot of fun too.
Nice article Mike.

We drove it with the truck a few years ago, and it was indeed a very cool place! The truck did ok, though I probably should have removed the hitch before driving it: We bottomed out hard on some rock right on the bottom of the hitch. No damage, but kind of jarring. (We did discover later that we managed to take a two-inch gouge of rubber out of a tire, too, but that was just the nature of the terrain, not necessarily the condition of the road.)
It is kind of hard to spot the entrance from Highway 163, where we entered. Coming out the other side, we turned right on Highway 261, not realizing that we were heading immediately toward the Moki Dugway. Well, until we saw the warning signs. Again, quite a drive!

No problem, Terry and Tiffany. There's lots to do in this area. Monument Valley, Goosenecks, Valley of the Gods, Moki, etc...

Very nice article, Mike. Thanks. We went thru there years ago with a pickup camper, but were in a hurry, and tired. Should have stopped for the night.
