Solar Install (and a few other installs)

We did a solar install (and composting toilet and furniture re-design) in our International 27fb ourselves and thought to post it here for anyone to review. It was time consuming but not terribly difficult. We bought most of our equipment from Go Power, and they were great to work with. We also talked to Airstream a few times and they were helpful as well.

Carl, the hitch is inside the rear bumper. So you're correct.

I posted on your blog but not sure it went through. Can you provide some more pictures on the hitch install? Is it for a bike rack? Looking for a hitch solution for a bike rack since I'm not a fan of the faema. Thanks.

i saw this done to one at an rv show last year. I believe the unit was a 2014?. There was a 2" square tube with a flat piece of metal welded on each end in the shape of the area just behind the body. another piece of 2 " was welded in a "T" fashion in the middle of long tube to facilitate the hitch receiver section.

In the ends they drilled 3 holes to attach the made bar to frame of bumper area. on the hitch area there was a tab attached to attach bar/hitch to existing bumper/frame area on the underside.

i had a picture but not able to find at this time.
